FAQS

Q: Do you offer free shipping?
A:  We offer free shipping on orders between $50 and $1200 within the continental United States when ordering through our website or phone. We do not control shipping speed once the order has left our warehouse, but on average, our customers receive their powder within 3-6 business days (except for our color blasters which take 6-8 days), starting the day after they order.

We do offer expedited shipping on some products for an additional cost. Call us at (801)-528-1250 for a quote.

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A:  Yes, we do ship most products internationally. (Gender Reveal Blasters are only shipped to the continental United States due to restrictions on pressurized products.)

For Canadian shoppers, call us for a quote on your order, or check out Chameleon Colors products on Amazon.

Q: How should I clean the color powders?
A:  First and foremost, we recommend only using Chameleon Colors color powders outdoors. For color powder remaining on grass after an event, the powder should disappear with water (such as water from sprinklers, hose, or a rainstorm). Our powder is eco-friendly and will not harm the environment. Any color on sidewalks or pavement should be blown away (a leaf blower would work great) or brushed away first. Then, any remaining powder can be washed away with a hose or power washer.

Q: Will the color wash off of skin and hair?
A: Yes! The easiest way to get color powder off is while it’s still dry. So, shake, wiggle, jump up and down, and brush it off the best you can. After that, use soap and water for the skin and shampoo for the hair.

Q: Does color stain clothing?
A: Chameleon Colors color powder is not intended to stain or dye clothing. For best results removing the color, brush off as much of the powder as you can before it gets wet. Then, wash the clothes on a regular wash cycle or hand wash the affected area until the color comes out. While our colors are not intended to stain, when large concentrations of the powders are mixed with water, the dyes can stain—especially on white clothing.

Q: What if it gets in the eyes?
A: Our color powders are nontoxic and use only FD&C and D&C approved ingredients. However, encourage participants to wear sunglasses since this can reduce the chances of having color powder in the eyes. If color powder does get in the eyes, rinse with water to clear any powders that are causing irritation.

Q: Can we eat the colors?
A: We don't recommend it. While it's nontoxic, gluten-free, and we use only FD&C and D&C approved ingredients, we recommend wearing it, not ingesting it.

Q: Can we inhale it?
A: Extensive exposure is not recommended.

Q: Are the colors safe?
A:
Our vibrant colors are made up of corn starch and FD&C and D&C colors. Color safety information: Approved for use in foods, cosmetics, and/or drugs. These products are not considered hazardous, 29 CFR 1910-1200.

Our Colors-SDS will list any other ingredients you might have questions about.

Q: What is the Difference between "Holi Festival Powder" and "Color Chalk Powder?"
A: Color runs deep in the heart of Indian culture. You may have seen colorful Holi celebrations where participants throw colored chalk on one another to celebrate new beginnings in the spring. This is the origin of Holi color powder. (You can read more about Holi Festivals in our blog: How to Throw a Holi Festival at Home.)

In the United States, we have adapted this color powder for other occasions and events like color runs, festivals, school events, photography, and so much more. The powder is the same, but the use and name can vary!

Q: Can you use Chameleon Colors color powders for bath bombs?
A: While we haven't tested out our color powders with bath bombs, we know a lot of customers have claimed success in making beautiful and vibrant bath bombs. However, we caution our customers that the different dyes can react differently in the water. Before making a large batch, we recommend testing it out in small batches to assure the colors create the desired effect.

Q: Can you use Chameleon Colors color powders with Epoxy?
A: Similar to bath bombs, we have not tested the color powders ourselves to work with Epoxy resin crafts. However, we have had many customers use our color powders for their resin projects successfully. We also recommend testing out a small area before using the colors in large batches or projects.
